Tom Hamilton Visit to BRS 2011

Today 4th August Tom Hamilton visited the BRS Newmarket and is pictured with Imperial Sword. Tom took part in the Charles Owen pony races last year run by the PRA at Cheltenum. The PRA asked if the JJMF would sponsor it which we gladly did as we were sure if Jan had had the choice she would have loved to have done this as well. The PRA created The Leading Northern Rider who was presented with the Jan Wilson Memorial Award perpetual trophy, a point-to-point racing saddle, embroidered jacket, breeches, poly pad, and boots from P.H.Kingsley Ltd. Media training will also be offered together with personal tuition at the Northern Racing College Doncaster where Jan went after work for extra training on the Simulators all sponsored by the Jockey Jan M F.

I thought it would be a good idea to have a prize for The Leading Scottish Rider (I new the kids would like the idea as they would ask if I was coming to the next pony race which brought a welcome smile to my face which I think they meant more prizes) to encourage riders from Scotland to take part in the Northern circuit so Tom Hamilton won this, and was presented with the Jan Wilson Memorial Award perpetual trophy, pony racing saddle, embroidered jacket, breeches, poly pad, and a 1 to 1 training day at the British Racing School Newmarket where Jan did her NVQ2, Amateur and Apprentice Licence. The day consists of a Tour of Newmarket including visiting a trainer’s yard, Media training with Lorna Bradburne. Simulator training and riding with a jockey coach including video review and lunch. P.H.Kingsley Ltd. Kindly donated a pair of hand-made made-to-measure "ClassiC' Pony Racing Boots to the to the winner.
